About NCSS 65

Mission Statement

The North County Senior Softball 65league provides a physical and social outlet for the senior, male, softball player who desires a more competitive challenge than a typical recreation-level of softball play. Players are expected to be able to compete for playing time, run for themselves on the bases unless temporarily impaired, and qualify for the league based on performance. Teams are intentionally balanced to provide competitive parity with players of matched skills.  Our goal is to let the fun of playing a game we love challenge us to stay active, maintain and improve our skills, and contribute to our team winning games against equally motivated peers and friends.

Rules of Conduct

Because the success of our league depends on each other, and depends on continually attracting new players with similar skills and interests, our rules of conduct foster sportsmanship over gamesmanship, support all players contributing to the tasks of running a game and the league, prohibit arguing, and exclude those who interfere with the enjoyment of others.

Who we are

We are a group of sixty-five year old and up, male slow-pitch softball players. We have 4 teams and play twice a week, Monday and Wednesday mornings (Wednesday and Friday in the summer), every week of the year, excluding some major holidays and on days that conflict with players playing in SSUSA tournaments. Our games are played at Alga Park in Carlsbad. Occasional games may be played at Pine Park or Poinsettia Park in Carlsbad.

If you are a male, 65 years of age or older and have played slow-pitch softball before, click here to fill out the application form.
